Bartosz Sujkowski
In Bartosz Sujkowski's painting, one can find a somewhat anachronistic spirit of seeking unity in opposites, an attempt to explain one medium through another. The space created on canvas by Bartosz Sujkowski is a conglomerate based on the relationship between painting, music (the author's fondness for musique concrète, avant-garde, and classical music is evident), and film (especially film noir, New Wave cinema, avant-garde, and experimental cinema), although not every one of his paintings will have direct cinematic inspirations.
Bartosz Sujkowski was born in 1979 in Bielsko-BiaÅ‚a. He graduated from the Faculty of Graphic Design and Animation at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków in the studio of Prof. Krzysztof Kiwerski. In 2004, he received a six-month scholarship at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin. In 2005, he obtained his diploma from the Faculty of Graphic Design and Animation in Prof. Krzysztof Kiwerski's studio. He won the main prize at the Animated Film Festival in Konin.
